Frontline Labor Tour
A Frontline Labor Tour to Colombia was held from November 4-15, 2006. The tour consisted
of ten delegates from three labor unions. The participating unions were the Canadian Union
of Postal Workers (CUPW), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and the Public
Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). As a delegate from CUPW, my report will focus on the

Letter from ARSN to NSP Regarding the Power Company's Inaction on
Human Rights
The recent dialogue between the Atlantic Regional Solidarity Network
(ARSN) and representatives of Nova Scotia Power regarding NSP's importation of Colombian
coal linked to human rights abuses has, for all intent and purposes, stalled. Despite the
best efforts of ARSN to engage in an open dialogue, representatives of NSP have repeatedly
utilized delaying and stalling tactics, while refusing to effectively address the question
of human rights abuses related to the Colombian coal the company imports to fuel its power
