  • VOP permits. Some still expired and need replacements. The Learning Institute issues them and will be advised
  • The issue re a step van or right hand drive is still awaiting to be addressed by
    Route Measurement in Halifax
  • New dock curtains have been installed.
  • Lew advised that Profac had submitted a proposal to Alan Kelly, CPC Real Estate, to have sump pump alarms tied into the ADT Security Systems and that system would differentiate between a break-in type of alarm and a sump pump problem. CPC has not approved this proposal yet.

  • Need fatigue mat at the Retail counter. George will forward measurements to Lew.
  • The issue with the radio still irritating `some" employees has come up again and the matter will be escalated to the Local Area Manager this very day..
  • This day an employee wrote a letter (copy attached) describing another employee creating work floor friction by blowing a loud whistle a number of times. This will also be escalated to the Local Area Manager.

SYDNEY:

  • Want a scent free workplace. Lew will try to locate some posters that deal with this issue and a memo will be placed in the Info Book
  • Boxes still being knocked over. Lew pointed out that CPC is currently reassessing the design and specs of their Street Furniture in the hope that issues like this can be addressed. Andrew further suggested the possible use of spikes protruding from the base of the boxes.

Janice Maclnnis gave Lew a list of those employees validly trained and certified as First Aid Attendants. Please see the attached list:

SAIR REPORTS:

#38723 Employee slipped on ice, fell down resulting in lost time. Corrective Action exercise care and slow down

#38647 - Feb 3/06 - double dog bite - Corrective Action - dog has since been put down.

#38783 - Feb 7/06 - Carrier slipped twice on same day - Corrective Action - be vigilant and slow down.

#40745 - Feb 27/06 - Employee was lifting a letter-tainer out of a mono which was about halfway up the height of the mono and weighed about 20 lb when he strained his back. He missed 2 days work. Corrective Action - open the gate all the way when emptying full mail containers, face the container and bend the knees.

#40671- Feb 27/06 - Employee tripped over his own feet, losing his balance and falling into a railing. After brief modified duties, he was back to full duties.
